biography
FUSE was born from an accidental collaboration between 5 musicians. Within a year, FUSE performed as opening act to Bon Jovi, Kane and DI-RECT.
In the beginning
FUSE’s union in 2009 was marked by the Prosecco Fashion Event, where they first appeared as a group. Throughout 2009, FUSE developed creatively and started performing more and more often.
1st birthday: Royal Beach Concert
In April 2010, FUSE entered Radio Veronica’s Royal Beach Contest, organized by Veronica DJ Patrick Kicken, artist manager Edwin Jansen (jury Idols) and organizer Bob Reiche.
FUSE won, and took the stage as opening act to BON JOVI, KANE and Di-rect, before nearly 50.000 people at the Royal Beach Concert on Scheveningen beach.
The Royal Beach Concert took place on June 5th 2010, marking FUSE’s 1st birthday.
New album
In 2010 FUSE released various material online, while working on a new album. Expected release date: summer 2011.

Benjamin
FUSE's front man is a versatile artist with many ambitions. When singing and playing saxophone and acoustic guitar, he enjoys many flavors of rock, soul, pop and funk.
Benjamin has played in several bands and ensembles. He toured Curacao N.A. with 'Sax with the DJ', performing at events such as Bacardi B-live. In The Netherlands, he played with 'Meneer van Zanten'. For this group he recorded brass on two singles and took on the lead role in their first video 'Laat Me'.
It was not until recent years that Benjamin discovered a love for singing. While exploring and training his vocal talents, he has developed as an energetic live performer.
Didier
With Dire Straits’ Mark Knopfler as an early source of inspiration, Didier started playing guitar at the age of 12. After high school, he graduated from the well renowned Guitar Institute in London. He subsequently studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where he focused on mastering various styles within pop, jazz and fusion.
Before he graduated, top producer Gordon Groothedde asked Didier to become first endorser for guitar brand Bo-El.
Didier has played and recorded for various artists, such as Future Presidents (Universal) and Sean Mac (Sony BMG). During recording sessions in Sweden for his band ‘Splinter’, Didier was invited by hit producer Jonas Reingold to perform with Swedish top fusion band Karmakanic (InsideOut).
Marcel
As a bass guitarist, Marcel was one of the founders of ‘Splinter’. With this Dutch progressive rock band, he released the album ‘Dreamers’ in 2007, which was well received around the world.
Marcel toured with ‘Splinter’ as support act for Swedish prog rock giants ‘The Flower Kings’, and played in various pop formations. In 2008, his blues band ‘Wide Open’ performed on the Dutch festival ‘Bospop’, along with ZZ-Top, Europe and Santana.
Matthijs
The last member to join FUSE, Matthijs is a truly versatile gem to the band. After 12 years of music education and a training for the conservatory of Zwolle, he went on to study Music Technology at the Hogeschool der Kunsten in Utrecht.
As a professional pianist, he toured Europe with Sister Sledge, performing in Russia, Austria, Italy, The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and other countries. Matthijs also contributed to composition and preproduction of a solo project by Debbie Sledge. Replay and La Fonque are among other live acts Matthijs performed with.
Having owned a sound studio, Matthijs’ expertise goes as far as production and recording technique. As a sound engineer, he toured with Cuby & the Blizzards (Harry Muskee) theatre tour and various festivals.
